Meet Dan!

5 year old ex-racehorse..... foot rehab and re-schooling project :-)

He seems to be a lovely person and deserves a chance, and due to Magic's new found perfectness in everyway (tongue firmly in cheek) I felt I needed a new project!

He's Irish. DOB 11/5/02. Bay gelding. Raced as a 2 yr old- 5yr old, then did a suspensory (near fore). The worst feet in the world.... although he's had 6 months rehab already and has had a proper trim throughout this time AND proper diet, so I'm very lucky to have him already well on the right road.

Sound as a pound, even on hard core and ROCKS. Naff feet and toe first landing. Feet wider than long. He's my 'TB's do go barefoot and their feet CAN regenerate despite being shod from 2' project!

I think if I can balance the work/feet ratio we could prove it too!

Looks like a go-er huh? Bless him, here's hoping he likes his new career (whatever that turns out to be!) better than racing!

Then the boy himself before I got him.... He has taken a while to lose his racing muscle, but in doing so he has lost ALL muscle and now looks like a right weed. I was worried from these photos that he'd be too small, but he's actually a good 15.2hh and will bulk out a LOT I think as he grows and develops some top line.

Equally I don't want him carrying too much condition til I'm sure the leg will hold out!
