Poor Boy...

On the back of schooling on Fri, then yesterday off, today we went for a 'quiet' trundle on our own (well, alone with Echo!!)
Was planning on going for our first off road canter as he's been getting pretty upitty when we try to hack round the fields and I thought we'd be better off doing it alone.

Well alls well til we get to the dreaded wood.... Stop to chat to some friends who drove past, very good boy, then past the wood, phew... still have lurchalot in tow.....

Then she sniffs something in the LAST thorn bush next to the wood and BANG, she's off like a bullet after something that is crashing through the undergrowth and squeaking.....

Now under normal circumstances I know she comes back now (see previous posts!), so I continue on my way for 10mins, calling etc....

Then I get worried and turn for home, and the upshot is that poor old Dan had to trot up and down the road three times to find an Echo....!

But he was such a star.... he knew something was up, but he trotted past his stable mates hacking in the other direction, then turned away from home as soon as I asked, then back home and away from his mates (who had found the erant lurch)....

So another BIG thumbs up for the lad.... and his suspensory.... and his FEET!!

Although whether he'll be quite so good on them tomorrow, we can only hope!
